Low Times Video Exclusive: “A More Perfect Union” by Titus Andronicus.

Back in February I directed a video for Titus Andronicus for their song “No Future Part Three: Escape From No Future”. The concept was simple — the band did a one-day “tour” through its home state of New Jersey, playing at six different locales around the state. At every stop the band did a few run-throughs of “No Future Part Three” so we could get enough coverage for the video. But they also made a point of playing some extra songs for all of the fans who came out to cheer them on. They insisted on it, actually — there were times when we were up against the clock and I got the nod from Patrick that they were packing it in, only to hear them launch into one final number.

The New Brunswick performance was a particular bright spot in a day packed with highlights — we were shooting Titus playing a basement show at a place called Fuck Mountain. The show was wall-to-wall with college kids who were really fired up to see the band return to their low-ceilinged roots. One of the songs they played was “A More Perfect Union” and we were lucky enough to have both cameras rolling. Seeing it again makes me proud to have been able to capture the band at this point in its career. I hope you enjoy it! – Tom
